The Bridge Room wins top award
The Bridge Room, our ground floor restaurant, has won The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2016 Restaurant of the Year. Congratulations to Ross and Sunny Lusted and theri team who have done a wonderful job in renovating the interior of this space as well as creating the most wonderful dining experience.
Here is a review from the paper's top reviewer, Terry Durack.
One feature of all these reviews and articles is the character and architectural significance of 44 Bridge Street, comments that reveal a real fondness for its place in Sydney and Bridge Street in particular.
"...and place it all in one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the city and you've got yourself a recipe for Restaurant of the Year"
"Set in that beautiful Bridge Street Art Deco building...." "this splendid, steel-windowed dining room in one of the city's most true-to-style late '30s buildings." It is actually in the "functionalist" style, not art deco but in any case let's hope all our steel windows are fixed and back to their best soon.
